Director of Operations
Jamie handles the day-to-day administrative operations of Urban Harvest STL. She oversees the office staff, compiles metrics and handles behind-the-scenes coordination of volunteers, tours and events. Jamie began volunteering with Urban Harvest STL after reading about FOOD ROOF construction in 2015 and reaching out to Mary directly to offer her assistance. Mary immediately set her to task planning the opening “vine-cutting” ceremony. Soon after, Jamie joined the Board of Directors and served on the Event Committee, helping to make connections with local chefs and building a robust event program that included Harvest Dinners, workshops and happy hours on the FOOD ROOF.
Jamie’s passion for growing and cooking food began in early childhood, helping her dad in his backyard garden. She loved all varieties of tomatoes (and still does), but was not a fan of okra (and still isn’t). She loved to cook and create recipes, spending many hours with her Easy Bake Oven making “treats” for three younger brothers to try.
She is encouraged and uplifted daily by the hard work and commitment of the UHSTL team of staff, interns and volunteers who work tirelessly to make our farms healthy, accessible and sustainable.
