AUTUMN SIMONS
Work Study: Urban Farmer

Autumn studies environmental science at Saint Louis University and has a passion for sustainability, food access, and social justice. Her interest in gardening began at an early age, where Autumn would spend time tending to various herbs and vegetables alongside her grandmother. She has further developed her farming skills through experiences like working on an organic farm in rural Scotland and volunteering at other urban farms in St. Louis. She is very excited to be a part of the Urban Harvest team and hopes that working with the organization will build tangible, shareable farming knowledge. She also hopes to cultivate meaningful relationships within a wonderful community while sharing the empowering skill of backyard organics with others. Autumn aspires to incorporate these values and life lessons in her post-graduate experience too, whether through a term of service or a master’s program in sustainable agriculture.
