Clare builds capacity for Urban Harvest STL (UHSTL) by developing community partnerships and raising the funds necessary for the organization to meet its mission. She offers a unique perspective to fundraising, having both committed capital on behalf of a national commercial bank and raised donations in support of its partnering nonprofits, and has focused much of her career connecting people, ideas, and resources.
Clare first learned of Urban Harvest as an employee of U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation, where she worked for eight years. There, she championed U.S. Bank’s support of UHSTL and helped secure a contribution that accelerated the FOOD ROOF Farm’s completion. Most recently, she served as secretary on UHSTL’s board of directors and regularly explored new opportunities that could benefit the organization and the broader community, including expansion to Flance Early Learning Center. She is fascinated with how the built environment impacts people and is inspired by Urban Harvest’s transformation of under-utilized spaces into regenerative foodscapes that build community. Clare graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA from Saint Louis University and serves as a board member of Trailnet and as an advisor to Gateway Greening.
